CAPTAIN HUGENOT ACCEPTS POSITION:

06 November 2009 - New Rochelle, NY.

   Today, Captain Hugenot accepted a position as a yacht broker with The Sunseeker Club, New Rochelle, NY, where he will market yachts of distinction including the entire Sunseeker line of superyachts. He will also broker pre-owned yachts.


     NOT TO WORRY He will continue to provide the same services as a Naval Architect - Marine Surveyor and Expert Witness on the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf coasts of the U.S. and  also the Canada Maritimes BC and Alaska as he has for the past many years.


He will be spending approximately 50% of his time in NY and 50% in SF.


DESIGN CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED:

09 September 2009 San Francisco, CA.

   The winners of the 2009 SNAME International Small Craft Design Contest  were announced today by Capt. Alan Hugenot, chairman of the judges panel. 

   FIRST PRIZE was awarded to Stefan Wolczko of Webb Institute for his design of a Sailing Merchant Yacht.

   SECOND PRIZE was awarded to Maggie Hayes and Benjamin Testerman, of Stevens Institute for their design of a reconfigurable super yacht.


APPOINTMENT AS DESIGN CONTEST CHAIRMAN ACCEPTED:

01 September 2008 - Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, New York, NY

Captain Hugenot, chairman of the SNAME Motor Yacht Panel of the Small Craft Technical and Research Committee, accepts the appointment to chair the SNAME International Small Craft Design Contest.


CORROSION PAPER DELIVERED AT POWERBOAT SYMPOSIUM

08 MARCH 2008 - Annapolis, MD

Captain Hugenot delivered a paper to the Chesapeake Powerboat Symposium, at St. John's College in Annapolis Maryland, the paper covered the state of the art in Marine Electrolytic Corrosion with emphasis on the aspects of the little known results of AC stray current corrosion. HUGENOT LEADS Ft. Lauderdale SUPERYACHT SYMPOSIUM:

Fort Lauderdale, Fl -13 November 2006

Captain Hugenot, in his capacity as chairman of the Motor Yacht Panel of SNAME's Small Craft Technical and Research Committee was called upon to serve as today's Presiding Officer for the Super-Yacht Symposium held today at the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center, as an adjunct to the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) annual convention.


ADVISORY TO  ABYC ELECTRIC STANDARDS COMMITTEE:

October 2006 - American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC)

Captain Hugenot accepts position as advisory member of ABYC Electrical Project Technical Committee with cognizance of ABYC standards

E-10 (Storage Batteries), E-11 (AC and DC Electrical Systems), & TE-4 (LIghtning Protection).


CAPTAIN HUGENOT STEPS DOWN FROM FIREBOAT COMMITTEE:

Seattle, Washington - 28 January 2006

Captain Hugenot, who has served as a principle member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Marine Fireboat Committee for 9 years, stepped down today. He will remain in an advisory capacity only for the committee. He cited his added duties as chairman of the Motor Yacht Panel for SNAME as the reason he could no longer take an active part in the Fireboat Committee.  


CAPTAIN HUGENOT ACCEPTS CHAIR FOR SNAME MOTOR YACHT PANEL:

Houston, Texas - January  15, 2006

Captain Hugenot, a member of SNAME since 1982, who has served on the Motor Yacht Panel for SNAME's Small Craft Technical and Research Committee since September 2001, accepts the appointment from Chris Barry (Chairman of the Small Craft Technical and Research Committee) to chair the Motor Yacht Panel.


ADVISOR TO ABYC HULL PIPING PROJECT TECHNICAL COMMITTEE:

March 2003 - American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC)

Captain Hugenot has accepted a position as an advisory member of the Hull Piping Project Technical Committee at ABYC, which has cognizance of these standards:

H-22 (Electrical Bilge Pump Systems), H-27 (Seacocks, Thru-hull Fittings and Drain Plugs), H-30 (Hydraulic Systems) .
